OGDEN RISING: Massive River Project Townhouse Development

OGDEN RISING: Massive River Project Townhouse Development

A new proposal is on the table by a developer to convert the vacant lot near the corner of 18th and Washington Blvd. into a large townhouse project.  A recent meeting with the planning commission highlighted some of the proposed details.

The proposed scope of the project would be between Kiesel Ave and Washington Ave. and bounded by the Mountain America Credit Union owned lot near 18th St. on the north and the Ogden River on the south.  A total of 41 units are proposed.

Architecture at the site includes a mix of Victorian, Craftsman, and Traditional designs.  Initial drawings offered to the planning commission were critiqued for their compliance with building guidelines and the city recommended enhancing the roof lines to conform more closely to those proposed styles.

This project is still in the works but if the new renderings fit the bill of stylistic guidelines, it appears this project will be on its way to becoming a reality.

This addition will help alleviate the housing supply shortage that has gripped our community the past year.
