JUST SOLD! Brigham City East Bench Home

July 7, 2020 Posted by: Jeremy Peterson

We recently closed on the sale of this mid-century home located on the east bench of Brigham City for our buyers. The home was built in 1962 with a split-entry configuration and a mid-century motif. The structure is 2,500 SQFT with 5 Bedrooms, 2.5 baths,  and sits on a .26 acre lot. Our shopping experience began in May when we found this home listed at $289,900. Our initial offer was $280,000 and asking for $5,000 in closing costs. The sellers balked at this and requested a full price offer. After […]

INFERNO: Fire Claims One of Ogden’s Oldest Standing Homes

Posted by: Jeremy Peterson

2539 Adams Avenue has served as a rental property for many decades.  Prior to its repurposing as a multi-unit property, the home served as a home to a family constructed in 1882.  As such, it is, or was, one of the oldest structures still standing in the city.  Only a handful of adobe buildings in the city predate this structure. This afternoon, the building caught fire and the flames tore through the attic and upper floor of the building.  Given the water and fire damage to the building, it appears […]

Posted by: Jeremy Peterson

We just listed this amazing example of historic Queen Anne Victorian architecture located at 2447 Monroe Blvd. in Ogden, Utah.  The home was built in 1899 by W.G. and Elizabeth Biddle.  Both were handcart pioneers who homesteaded in Utah after relocating from England.  They constructed the home in the later years of their life. The home is currently configured as a duplex but would make a very easy conversion back to a single family residence.  The home sits on an impressive .2 acres city lot across the street from up-and-coming […]

OGDEN RISING: New Historic 25th Street Massive Mixed-Use Development

Posted by: Jeremy Peterson

It has been over 10 years since a major project has been proposed for development along Ogden’s iconic Historic 25th Street. In 2008, a simmering back room political feud burst into the open public with the Ogden City Council delivering a fatal blow to the Windsor Hotel redevelopment project.  Fortunately, those contentious days are mostly behind us and another generation of developers wants to take a crack at adding to 25th Street’s persona.     The lot in question is 144 E. 25th Street.   It has sat vacant for many […]

Courtyard Inn Motel Now a Crater

March 16, 2020 Posted by: Jeremy Peterson

Ogden’s steady turn around continues as perennial problems are neutralized and removed from the community.  A recent example is the Courtyard Motel located at the intersection of 25th Streets and Ogden Ave.  This motel was constructed sometime mid-century and attached itself like a parasite to the back of the much more dignified Bigelow Hotel. After Ogden’s economy tanked in the late 1950’s this motel served as a haven for criminal elements of the community.  In 2017, Ogden City Council approved its acquisition and plans for demolition. However, demolition efforts were […]
