PHOTO GALLERY: Wacky Scenes From the Housing Market – April 2016

While viewing many homes so far this year, I have seen a lot of interesting things. I think you will find a few of them interesting too.
This is a view of a rental unit after a tenant moved out. At least this tenant left their trash organized in a pile on one side of the room. It was also thoughtful of them to leave the window open to air out the space…in March…with the furnace turned all the way up…for a week.
For a St. Patrick’s Day celebration, this tenant smoked in their unit for 5 years. Don’t pinch me! I’m nicotine green.
Kids love ant farms on a dresser. But, do they love roach farms in the bedroom closet?
The rule of plumbing is that fewer joints are better. This guy got that rule backwards. Someone got “elbow happy”.
Excuse: Grass is overrated and dandelions are easier to grow.
Looking for a cheap backsplash? Sticky tiles work until the heat ruins the adhesive and they fall into your dinner.
Want to surprise the next person to use your dryer? Give your crayons a ride in the dryer first.
The cigarette smoke streaks are an artsy enhancement. But the rag handle adds function and utility to a vent register that hides your drug stash.
Nothing says “I want to die in an electrical fire” like this.
Innovation at its best/worst/sad.
Flat walls are so boring. Spruce up your dark windowless basement bathroom with terrifying texture instead.
If you grease your hips, you can fit in the space to do your business.
Confirming why the advante-garde front door movement never took off.
That is all for now. Keep your eyes peeled for more crazy photos from the front lines of the housing market.
