While we had been working diligently on our basement, we decided to take a detour and focus on a craftsman kitchen remodel.  We are nearly done and we want to share some of the results and and how we did it. To learn more about how we turned this kitchen into a gem, check out the video:

We recently finished the pouring of concrete in our historic craftsman home basement.  The job was intense and required scores of hours of labor to complete.  In the video you can see how the forms were set up and what the footings and concrete floors look like freshly after the pour. We just closed on the sale of this fully renovated cottage located on Ogden’s East Bench.  The home is located at 2202 Taylor Ave. and experienced a top-to-bottom remodel. We originally listed the property for sale on December 8th for $264,900.  The sellers were aggressive in their list price and wanted to test the market.  After a week of quiet, we dropped the price $15,000 to $249,900.  At this new price point we began to get regular showings. We recently leased one of our properties to a family in Ogden.  At the time we received their application, everything seemed normal.  Their income verification checked out.  They received a good reference from a previous landlord in a newer neighborhood in Harrisville.  Their credit was choppy due to medical issues but was otherwise par for what we see with most tenants.  With everything looking good we approved their application and moved them in.   That is when the trouble began.  About a week after their move into the property we […]

We have been working towards finishing the basement in our historic 1908 craftsman home.  The process has been and continues to be tedious.  We recently obtained our city permit after getting a structural engineer to sign off on the project.  We are excited to finally move forward.  So, with out further ado let me introduce our project with MY OLD HOUSE  – Episode 1.  Look forward to other episodes in the future as we move along with the work.
